[Closed] Bontrager XR Mud (Team edition) on Mavic 819's - porous tyre??

Running tubeless on Mavic 819's. These are brand new tyres with Stand Sealant. TLR tyres.

Seem to be loosing air on rear wheel. (previously ran Spesh Purgatory's with no problem).
Left at 45psi overnight resting sideways, they are now at 20Psi and most of the tread area is white with what I can only presume is sealant....

Looks like millions of tiny tiny holes have been filled in with sealant - still loosing air..
Any one else had a porous tyre??

Yes, they seal. Why 45 psi though? Far too high.

Seen it before but then ive use non-tubeless tyre as tubeless, just pump it back up (though not to 45psi) & use it.

Bontrager Tubeless Ready tyres are porous and need sealant to seal the tyres if ran tubeless. They don't have the inner seal associated with 'proper' UST tubeless tyres.
EDIT: if you didn't already do so, remember to give the tyre a good shake (the so-called “Sealant Rain Dance”) so that the sealant coats all of the inside of the tyre.

Agreed Bonty TLR are hardly different from a std mtb tyre.
Geax do a sealant called pit stop which is alledgedly better at sealing Bonty tyres.
I have had the same experience as the OP with a mudX and ran it tubed
in the end.
I find Maxxis Ignitors LUST also dont seal as well as Vert Pro's

Add more sealant, but I'd first go for a ride after pumping up (a bit, say 30-35psi) - they may be fine.

Just added another cup of sealant, should have explained - not actually riding with 40-45Psi. normally run around 30-35psi. Was pumping up to 40Psi to get beads to pop and seal. I've run the wheel through a bucket of water looking for bubbles but cant see any other than tiny tiny ones on the side wall.

More Sealant rain dance me thinks!. before lobbing a tube in there.

Edit: the front tyre is fine - no white on the tread (both new!)

I had that with some Schwalbes - is it leaking around the moulding hairs?

Its more all over the main body of the tyre, could rub it off and smells like stans. Will take it for a ride, n see how it goes..

15 hours later still up and hard. 75 mil of bonty juice in each (29er).
Without any sealant the tyres were going down.
These are the worlds easiest tyres to fit. I just put them on the rim and pumped. Amazing.
A quick spin up the road and they seem quite quick. Are these the holy grail of tyres?
Ps using stans arch rims.

I removed mine, and reseated - but as you say easy to fit to (tubeless rims - 819's). think around 30Psi they popped onto the bead/rim. Sealed.
Took it for a spin after adding approx 1.5 scoops of Stand Fluid. appears hard still.
(also did the raindance shake again!)

Hoping to go ride this afternoon - in the wet!
