Thinking of changing my qr130 forks to new bolt thru 130's, is it worth bothering and will I notice a difference from my pace rc31xcam to the dt bolt thru version of the same fork? ❓

Yes you will feel the additional stiffness that a 20mm front axle gives in terms of better steering response; the bike will hold a line down rocky runs far better and you will get more 'feel' from your steering as a result. But it's an expensive upgrade for just that. If you needed new forks or wanted to upgrade to increase travel and damping performance in order to mate with a new frame then it's obviously well worth it. But if there is no other reason, then I can't imagine it's a worthwhile investment for the additional performance it will give. You may be able to just upgrade the lowers, but again, that's not going to be cheap either.

I've got QR and Maxle Revelations, there's a difference but to me it's not that substantial, I'm glad I didn't pay extra for it. I've never got back on the QR ones and thought "Oh, that's flexy, wish I had a Maxle". (and that's with the same frame and same wheel, btw- I think there's a tendancy here to change forks and wheel at the same time, perhaps other parts too, then say "Wow, that feels really different, it must be entirely down to the maxle and not the different fork lowers or wheel build"

I suppose that'll depend on the forks though, Revs aren't exactly noodly with QRs in but a skinnier fork might benefit more.

I have the exc150 DTs without the 20mm, and they are stiff enough, but then they are a light fork...I also have som Bomber 55s with 20mm and they are rock solid, but on a bigger bike, which is meant for bigger riding. Depends on what you want, like everything else.....

I'm wondering if a skinnier fork with bolt through would just highlight the flexy stantions?

I now have 20mm on both bikes and can feel the difference - don't get as much brake rub at front either.
