I don't know if many people keep an eye on stuff like this but Bolehills BMX track has been almost completely levelled again and transformed into something else entirely.ย

It's fairly local to me and I'd dearly love to be able to rip it up and go sky high on the backset but I'm crap at jumping. Every time I clear a few jumps and start stitching a lap together they demolish it and make it harder. Still, it's an amazing facility for people who are much better than me and I'm glad it exists.

There's an opening event on this Saturday.ย

Sadly I can't be there. But, I will be up there when the dust settles, seeing if I can ride any of the new jumps on my Dad-bike.

I used to take my kids there many years ago, the older one was actually good at bmx. I still live within spitting distance so will try and drag him on Saturday ( even though he is 45 now!)

That being the problem with Bolehills. They put in a huge amount of graft and look after the place well, but all they do is build stuff they want to ride.ย

do you go to Charnock at all? Much smaller, much more beginner friendly and Ant does regular coaching sessions.

Yeah Charnock is closer to home and we get there quite regularly when it's dry. It's definitely better for me at my level.
