With a bank holiday weeked looming and knowing that every van lifer will be heading to Keswick Ambleside and Snowdowniaย  my lakes trip needs a differnt approach.ย ย

ย  ย Like the darkness at dawn an early start from Hartsop and up High st and over to Cockpitย  and back via Martindale and who knows maybe a cheeky Seldom ..ย  ย  The last time I did this high st was a bog fest all the way downย  do you guys think after the weather of late this might not be the case ?ย

It does dry, but even then, it's not really worth it.

High Street was 99% bone dry last weekend when we went up from Pooley Bridge to The Knott

It'll be dry after a week of minus 5!

There is/was a diversion in place on the way up from Hartsop to avoid the destroyed FB below the reservoir. Ignore it and pedal across the beck next to the bridge.

It was almost entirely dry when I rode it late March. Fantastic day out when I went up by carrying onto Hartsop Dodd. Place Fell and Beda Fell were also really dry then too. I doubt you will get better conditions.
