Did a bivy trip at the weekend along the Wessex Ridgeway and in the last 15 miles of the ride the l/h bottom bracket came loose. I had to improvise with titanium tent peg and a rock to tighten the lock ring.
Needless to say the locking isn't in good shape as it's made from aluminium.
Replacement cups are £40, but I was wondering if anyone knew where I could hold of a replace locking. Basically something that would be tightened with this tool.
Edit: the BB is a TA Axix square taper such as this. Also the BB came loose probably because it wasn't tightened enough. I will have to sack my mechanic. That's a P45 I will be posting to myself then...

do you have a pic of the lockring? i have just removed an old bb from an old bike which had a lockring on it, if it is the same i'll pop it in the post for you.
if you can wait till i get home i'll take a pic for you.
Is it not a std lockring...check the used spares buin of any lbs?
several for a tenner on ebay. some with BBs.

It needs to have six "notches" in it as the tools that is used to fit it has six pegs to fit the notches.
