I'm looking for a very lightweight back protector for dirt jumping this summer. I've already got a 661 Assault Suit for DH but i'm thinking, as i'm not the best at jumping that I need some kind of protection.
I've looked at rubgy undershirt armour but can see how much back protection they offer. Anybody got any experience of them or ideas?

Well you can buy stand alone spine proection from many different brands. Surely that would be perfect?

I've looked at the standalone ones and that probably what i'll end up with , just wondering about other options really 🙂

Rugby gear won't have any spine protection at all, unless it's changed massively since I played seriously.

There's a lot of back protectors aimed at snowboarders that might be worth a look

It could be worth looking at proper MX armour too because some of those guys fall a very long way when it all goes wrong. I've got a spine protector built into my Dainese armour but to be honest I've got more faith in my Camelbak to protect my back!
