My DH road trip keeps changing it's mind about what it's doing and now Ae forest wont be possible as Tally is on holiday, so looking for alternatives.Blaenau Ffestiniog looks good and runs an uplift, also it will break up my journey for the Inners weekend uplift, so I'm just looking for reviews and ideas on where to camp.

cheers in advance.

Nowhere within 30 miles of Blaenau if you value your valuables....unless you are looking to score crack.

Probably the most incorrect post I've seen on ST! I live 15 miles away from Blaenau, they are way down the list of people "most likely to steal your valuables"

Blaenau is in the middle of the Snowdonia National Park, loads of camping, try Llechrwd or Google Betws y Coed.

Care to expand on that?

Some of my mates did it last week (I couldn't go cuz I had to ride in the sun in Spain!) and they are raving about how good the uplift and courses were.

We're in the area on Monday... We were gonna do CyB, but if folk are doing an uplift day we might be up for tagging on (and splitting the cost, obviously!).

Unfortunately the uplift only runs thursday to sunday or I would be going earlier in the week myself.

Ah that makes sense. CyB it is then, I can live with that, not been there in a while. Then Snowdon ๐Ÿ˜€

I did the uplift at Blaenau last Monday. Nice tracks, a good days fun but take knee pads as a minimum

Snowdon is slowly turning into a yearly trip... I approve of this. Rangers is still one of my favourite descents.

Roblilly, was that a private uplift? I didn't thik they ran on mondays?!It looks pretty rocky, so it will be full face and full armour for me.

I did enjoy Snowdon, although it was a bit busy when I did it.

No, not a private one. It was Tuesday actually! going mad. Its a bit rocky but the landings either side of the trails is nice and soft...I found out once or twice. The hardest black wasn't open when I went though. Have fun!

Watching the video you can see the potential for accidently going off trail, so soft landings sounds good to me!

We're hoping to get up Snowdon early on Tuesday, so with a bit of luck it might not be TOO busy...
