I've a set of around 2010 Reba blackbox that have a pushloc. The pushloc has been off for quite a while as it was never used however I tried refitting it today after realising that my daughter really needs it during races. I've got it connected back to the fork and the lock/unlock action seems to be ok (i.e. it springs back when unlocked). The problem is the fork does not lock out in either position. I've tried both extremes of the gate adjustment knob and that also appears to make no difference. Can anyone remember much about these forks that might have any suggestions about why the lock does nothing. I wonder about oil level perhaps being wrong (I did the last service about a year ago, I think I put the right amount in).
Have you tried pumping the fork up to your recommended pressure? I don't know what pressure you run for your daughter but running very low pressure in forks seems to cause damning not to respond normally.
I've not tried that. Will give it a go. They are low for daughter as she is only 30kgish.
Worth pulling the compression assembly and checking the oil level, you can also visually check the cartridge is actually locking out. You should be able to find the oil height online, but you can also measure the compression assembly insertion V oil height from the crown.
Thanks, will try that as well, at least the compression assembly can be pulled without dropping the lowers. I came across some old STW threads that describe the measuring process. I've not found an oil height online, only oil volumes.
