Hi. I am trying to organise a group trip for a uplift day a few people don't have a suitable bike. We originally we were going to do bpw but working out how many spaces etc and making a group booking looks painful!
Is there anywhere that hire suitable bikes for the black mountain uplift? If so are they open early before we start so that people don't loose loads of time from their day?
Alternative solutions to the problem welcome. Travelling from east Dorset. Some on the morning maybe some the night before.
You could see if BPW will let you hire some bikes and collect them the night before so you don't lose riding time on the day travelling back to BMCC?
Despite the BIG jumps on some trails at BMCC, it isn't all that rough or all that steep (and there's plenty to amuse a mediocre jumper like myself). So your definition of a suitable bike may be more stringent than you need - I'd be happy riding it on pretty much anything as long as the tyres are appropriate and the saddle can be dropped low.

It's a idea but it would mean two days off to get there in time before they close. Anyone travelling up the day before would be in the evening. Myself personally I will travel up early in the morning.
Interesting about the the tracks at bmcc. The jumps do look massive on the site. Too big for me personally!

I think the owner posts here as well?

That looks like a definite possibility. Thanks.
What do people think of the trails at bmcc? More than just massive jumps?
Like I said, I'm mediocre at jumping (fine with tables if the upslope isn't too steep, irrationally scared of all gaps) and I had lots of fun there (and there's a whole thread here on that subject, somewhere...)
BMCC is really good fun - I stayed away from the big gaps because they scared the hell out of me. Did a few of the black table tops which were good (steep take offs though).
The blues and reds are really good fun though. There uplift is efficient and there was some really good riders (one chap was throwing massive suicides over one of the gaps) but it seemed really chilled out atmosphere wise. I'd much rather go there than BPW.
You don't need a DH bike for the runs really - lots of trails bikes when I went.
Thanks for the info
When I was there it stopped raining as we parked, was sunny all day and then started raining as we packed up. The lambs were gambolling in the fields, sitting in the fresh air with my bike being hauled uphill by a tractor felt so rural and pleasant, and the start point of all the trails is like part of Hobbiton in LOTR, an ancient copse of gnarled trees upon a hilltop with lines snaking and plummeting in all directions. Magic.

The videos focus on the jumps and that was a bit offputting since i can't jump for toffee... but I think it's just because jumps are easy to film. There's so much more to the place than that, bloody fantastic tbh.
