It's possible that the decal is actually white plastic with a black print on top. It looks like you've just stripped off the print.

looks like its white vinyl with black print. If the graphics have no laminate coating, most solvents and aggressive cleaners will strip the ink pretty quickly. Guess turner need to get their graphics laminated. I would email them about this outlining what you had done. I think this is a quality issue they need to be made aware of. It does look better now though.

On a bike like that, I'd expect decals to be under the laquer.....

Laquering over powdercoat?

As Brant said the frame has been powder coated so no to the lacquering option

Cleaner I was using was Muck off possibly a combo of that and hot water caused the ink to lift

Santa Cruz don't laquer over powdercoat either...... the likes of Specialized (ugh) laquer over there decals but there paint jobs are at best utter shite in comparison to powdercoating. I had a Rockhopper and paint used to come off in chunks at the first sign of contact with anything!

Ahhh christ my eyes, is it possible that the black ink took its final step into oblivion, blinded by the greenyness that surrounded it? ๐Ÿ™‚

Only kidding, looks good, especially with white.

there you have it. That'll do for your decals. And your paint. And your components.

I had the same thing happen to me. Preffered the white decals anyway.
