Rotten buggers!

Is it £39.99 a year now? I thought it was £47.99.

Odd that the second amount was in dollars?

They charged you twice because you dont have enough KOM's.

Has the money actually been taken, or was it two attempts that failed (expired payment method?). The latter would also maybe explain the downgrade.

So I got gobby on Twitter.. and included my ticket number..

They've JUST refunded the USD payment..

But... I'm still £39.99 down, and STILL a free member!!!

Will see if it's a step wise approach.

Or maybe..just maybe....

They charged you twice left you as a free member because you dont have enough KOM’s.

I got an email telling me that I had a fantastic price offer and was going to be billed at £52.99 for the year - I cancelled and will be on the free account when it expires in a couple of days - Not a great price at all as my previous few subscription prices were £20 for the year so not a fantastic price at all.

I dont think Strava frequent these forums for customer service purposes.

They seem to have binned off the "pick and mix" approach to subscribing. It's all-or-nothing now, which is why it's more expensive.

I used to subscribe at £20/year just for Beacon, which for the utility in meeting up with mates and peace of mind was a no-brainer.

Since they've lumped all the features together I've not re-subscribed as yet since it's just a bit too expensive for the use I get from it :-/

If only OP were a subscriber, he'd get access to the Premium Support.

Since he's just a Free Account Holder I guess the only recourse is to vent on the most popular socials such as STW forums.

I don't use it apart from logging rides and seeing if I'm moving up the list in an indication of me improving.
All the technical stuff I get from Garmin, so the price for me isn't worth it.
However, my renewal date is in 2 days time so I may be posting back soon that I've been charged as well!

I don't appear to have been charged by Strava, but did get an 'offer' from the Strava app telling me my account had been downgraded but I could renew for a 43% discount - so 4.99 instead of 6.00 if paid monthly or 47.99 a year - this appears to be the 3rd price I've been given now - first one was 46.00 then the subscription renewal reminder gave me 52.99 and now this one of 47.99 (I'm pretty sure 47.99 isn't 43% discount from 52.99 either).

No, but it is from the £6.99 monthly fee. I think you can gift yourself a years subscription and get an extra month free still at the moment.

My current sub expires in a week, waiting to see what nonsense I get sent through!

well... it actually all got sorted in the end..I think...

I spent a few days with 2 fees, but no subscription...

THen they refunded the USD fee. But still no subscription.

I hastled tehm on FB adn twitter...each platform gave the same reply..
"Thanks DrP - you can create a ticker here etc etc".

I replied that i HAD, an had no reply..

Then they sent an email saying they have manually added the premium subscription...

Will see what happens next year!!!
