Seriously though, I'm going to be out there for a wedding in the first week of Feb and am keen to see the mountains. May as well try to squeeze in a ride while there!
A bit limited for time so can't afford to stray too far from Delhi, probably ruling out Kashmir & Jammu... and there's the small matter of snow to contend with too!
Does anyone have experience of Himachal Pradesh or Uttarakhand at that time of year? Know of any good guides/bike shops/trails?

Bob, it's quite a distance from Delhi to the foothills of the Himalayas. You're talking about 14 hours by train, then easily another 12 hours by taxi to Himachal Pradesh.
You'll also need to take some very warm clothing and snow tyres.

Really? I had thought about 12hrs by bus Delhi-Manali.
