I wanted an evil sovereign, santa cruz vpp dh bike, a ti road bike, cervelo r5. All an investment too far given they would be crashed or sold on when the next fad came along.

Santa Cruz Jackal, earlier type with the humpback top tube in shiny. Never had a jump bike as could never justify it due to my nads being normal size. Just a sweet and different looking bike.

Hated my San An, after spending a year building it up.
+1 on the Pace, also really wanted a GT Lobo, the later carbon K2/Pro Flex and I wish I'd bought the Intense M1 a friend mugged off dirt cheap.

Same here. Bought myself one in a moment of madness a few years back too. Seriously the wrong side of 30 to get the most out of it though. Oh well. It was fun! 😀

No idea why but the idea of a bike that looks like a Zundapp really appeals.
[img] [/img]

I actually had one, it came in the box instead of my Meta AM. I got to hold it and look at it. Then I had to send it back, momentarily very confused.
"**** me this is heavy, hey I've got a coil shock, sweet, no wait do I mean that, maybe I'd prefer one? Bugger me that is a slack angle, oh wait hang on here just one moment..."

And with a pair fox 32s to put on the front of it... 😆

I always wanted one of those Pace frames too.

[img] [/img]

More recently a Cotic Soda - they stopped making them just as I was getting the funds together - GRRRR!

Currently lusting after a 29er full carbon XC race rig - 'Dale flash is the favourite or a Canyon. Full carbon Turner got the pulse up too!

Are you sure? It's not grey. 😕

😉

I rode them a lot, BITD. Loaners from Scott Towers. Just wish I could have persuaded them to leave one with me, especially in that exact spec.

Really wanted but pockets weren't deep enough. Those tubes just looked really massive in the early 90s.

Both of mine are very old school,

Alpinestars Al-Mega XT

And one of those Whyte PRST-1 thingys with the BMW-esque front ends on it.

I suspect I would be disappointed by both.

Always wanted a T1 Barcode bmx, or an S&M Dirtbike. MTB wise I've always loved Bottlerockets. Got a Scott Voltage which seems close enough without the stupid price tag 🙂

A particularly nice example of a Barcode 😀

But ended up getting this instead (will get an M1 one day just to hang on the wall!):
[img] [/img]

In fact, just looking at Google Images for Tomac 204 Magnums has made me want another as well! That was a flippin bonkers bike. Weighed a tonne but brilliant!

Orange P7. They just look so right, though they seem to do nothing spectacularly well.

Specialized Epic (2005/2006 ish). AGain, just based on looks.

Of course, both have now been superseded on account of the wheels being too small.

I had one of those 😉

Dales in Glasgow had an absolutely gorgeous Klein when I was a kid - deep metallic red, with matching tyres. I lusted after it, kept going to see it - it got dustier and dustier and moved further back in the shop, then one day it was gone...

A mate had a San Andreas when I was about 15 and I wanted one as well, but just couldn't justify it since I really only rode XC

I wanted a Rocky Mountain ETS-X for years, when I got round to buying a new-new bike (as opposed to just a frame and build) I ended up with a Trek Fuel EX 'cause I didn't want to spend the same money on the lowest-spec ETS.

Then D45yth from these parts put up a fame and fork at a price I liked, so now I own one. And it's flamey-patterned. And I loves it. 🙂

I wanted one of these so much. Obviously in the eye of the beholder but I think it's the best geared bike I've ever seen.

One day.

I came very close to buying one of these before I got my meta... I'd still have one in a shot if I won the lottery, for my Leno like bike stable. Many afternoons spent staring at the pictures.
