Clarey Morris.

Everytime I see pictures of Helvellyn I fancy doing it, though it looks a bit scary. Only time I've been in the Lakes with bike was last years C2C, and that was more of a carry over Black Sail, and Sty Head pass.

Anyway, I'm trying to drag some of the guys up there, under the guise of training for this years Scottish C2C. Found some pics to email them, then looked on You Tube, found a great fly by

Then this vid by Gavgas:

Thought there had to be a fair chance you were in it?

The trig point on Kit Hill Cornwall this morning. Funnily enough I have walked up there quite often over the last 20 years but today was the first time I noticed the dedication carved into the side of the stone - Doh ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Ace I used to spend every summer holiday in that area when I was a kid. Just down the road from Pensilva on a relatives farm. I should really go back. Is there much nice offroad riding round there?
I thought Kit Hill was where we flew Kites and threw boomerangs but that appears to be the area of common land to the west of Pensilva. Wonder what that was called then?

More of a trail marker than a cairn, but at least it's leaning.

Tom, there is some riding on Bodmin moor but not in the league of Dartmoor or Exmoor. You really need to go up there with someone who knows where the few best bits are. I think the place you are thinking of west of Pensilva is either Caradon Hill with the TV mast or Minions/Cheesewrings on Craddock Moor.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I know you'll all be interested in this photo of the nearest trig point to my home.
This is one of the lowest trig points in the UK at 3m above sea level.
As it's on the raised banks of a river the surrounding land must be pretty close to sea level.
As I'm sure you all know, the lowest trig point is a few miles north of this one, just outside Littleport, which is at the dizzy height of -1m above sea level.
