After years of 'making do' and spending hours fiddling with gears (and everything else) with bikes upside down, frames balanced on knee etc., I finally took the plunge and got a proper workstand from Charlie [url= http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/workstands-132-c.asp ]CTBM workstand[/url] which was delivered next day.
Brilliant bit of kit and kicking myself I didn't get one sooner. Now on my third bike fettle in 24 hours 😀

Yes. Pricey for a good one but with the amount of maintenance you need to do on a mountain bike essential I would say.
