hey guys
a few of our facebook group are thinking about heading over the france and hitting some big mountain stuff ๐ for a long weekend next year we are looking to travel over by car (with our bikes) and camp..
if there is somewhere with jumps ect (small ish ones ) that would be cool ๐
where would you recommend ?
If you want to get to big mountains for a weekend then as close as possible would be a good start. Morzine/Les Gets is probably the closest in the Alps but that is still 8 hours from Calais. If there are a few of you and you drive through the night then it might work. There is camping and some good trails with jumps and the like.
Go for a week! You know it makes sense ๐ We drive down with all the kit then have had a few of the people who can't get a week off work fly down and join us. A week isn't much more expensive than a weekend if you are doing it on the cheap
Probably superbesse in the Auvergne is the closest park. It's a long way for a weekend though!
There is a small bike park in the ardenne in Belgium, only 400m of vertical and only open on the weekend. Might be ok for a weekend though.
Any links to that ianv?
Cazum - we have done a similar thing the last 2 years. We chose Morzine/Les Gets early season as it is the only place that opens in July. Have a look at somewhere like RidersRetreat, they do short let apartments for the weekend which won't cost much more than a campsite, have secure bike storage/parking, and if it does rin out there, it is big rain!!
cheers guy will look over the suggestions ๐
just back from 2 days biking 1 day in golspie and another at fort william! wow just wow amazing days!
