Hi All
I'm thinking my legs recovered enough from the blod clot I got whilst on holdiay in USA back in October 2022
and was declared clot free by dr back in Febuary
Goin to make sure i get an isle seat on planeย by paying extra so i can easily get up and move around (On the trip where i got the clot i was stuck in the middle of a 4 row of seats and didย get up much), which may have caused the clot - or could have been the covid jab i had a few weeks before the trip that caused itย , or could have been the crash i had at hartmans rocks...
And I'm going to see about quote for travel insurance fro MTB trip to USA this April
Anyone else done travel insuance after DVT - who did you use ? was it a lot more than before you had a clot ?
I had a DVT and bonus Pulmonary Embolism last Feb after driving back from the Alps in a oner. Aviva didn't seem very interested though I declared all. No impact on cover or premium.
Hey Boblo , thanks for info,ย i still occasional get what i call squelchy foot if i sit down too long , as the valves in my vain got a bit knackerd by clotย , did you fully recover with no remaining symptom's , I also stillย wear a compression sock like this during the day on the bad leg https://www.amazon.co.uk/DANISH-ENDURANCE-Graduated-Compression-Sleeves/dp/B07RWPKZVX/ref=sr_1_9?crid=1O4HFUO6D2A16&keywords=danish%2Bcompression%2Bsocks&qid=1703153516&sprefix=danish%2Bcompression%2Bsocks%2Caps%2C245&sr=8-9&th=1
In my case, the DVT was trivial, the PE almost fatal. No after effects of the DVT, the PE has compromised lung capacity through scarring which still impacts running and cycling. I take blood thinners for ever more and have to take plenty of breaks when travelling. Otherwise, as you were 🙃
