My mate is looking for a cycle to work mtb and has asked my advice. Unfortunately I'm an out of touch 26" wheel riding fat mess at th moment.
Can a decent 130mm + full susser be had for less than a grand?
Most big retailers on this particular scheme

Boardman's 650B gets good reviews.... No 26er of course & crap at riding to work

Cheers will give that a look. Just shows what's wreng with bike business when you can't get a full suss for less than a grand
