[Closed] Bike storage with the bars at ~90 degrees.

Knocked up a rack in the garage last night to save some space in the living room, (Garage is full of Mountain bikes...), am I going to do any long term harm to cables/hydraulic tubes by having the bars at 90 degrees for storage? Both get used with reasonable frequency, so its not like they never move.

(Edit, not sure why the pic is on its side...)

I can't imagine that would be any problem at all.
If it were me, I'd have to have something to make it easier to get them back straight every time though. A template, or something.

I would have thought it would have taken up less room to hang them, side by side, from their front wheel against the wall the speakers are against?

Surely that means the bikes need to be clean and dry to be in the living room?

Can't harm hoses/cables unless they're too short and you end up pulling them- otherwise it's basically the same as turning the bars. I suppose over time it could wear your stem or stem spacers ๐Ÿ˜†

I stack mine 3 aside, 2 with turned bars and the middle one not turned, works a charm. Not so different.

Rotating the picture through 90 degrees saves forum space

SammyC, I'll check later, but I don't think I have room for the 2 bars side by side between the speaker and the wall, hence going the way I did.

benp1, the CDF Ti is the summer bike so won't see a lot of mud/water at the best of times, the Giant gets hosed off after winter riding, can drip dry in the porch then come in again. If its that muddy I'll take the CX or the 29er!

Why not just take the front wheels out and keep the bars straight? (Or am I missing something?)

Could do, I was just trying to keep it easy. If its not going to cause any ill effects I'll stick with it as it is.

Been doing it for years, keeping 4 bikes down one side of a narrow hall
