I have vague memories of something being mentioned on here.
Want to save bike/van/Wally jnr sitting next to bike.
Backup plan is a thin plastic Decathlon bike cover.
Something a bit more STW artisan out there?

I’ve got a Polaris branded one. It was quite expensive for what it is but it does protect the van from the bike and vice-versa.
Tracey on here had some made by a sail making company iirc, they looked better than mine does and probably didn’t cost much more!
Or try and get your local Evans store to sell you one of the ones they use for transporting built bikes, mine wouldn’t though.

I got the Polaris one, from memory it was about £50 but when there are several bikes in my van I don’t worry and leave everyone else to put jackets and whatever they can find to protect their bikes

This one:

It’s on sale for £45 at the minute

We had four made up when we bought the camper about four years ago so that we didn't need to worry when they were in the garage, we don't even fasten them down. We also use them in the Tourneo but strap down round the last bike.
It took a bit of tracking down to find out who made them, most of the big bike companies use the same for their demo fleets. Evans used to sell them a few years ago and used them for shipping bikes between stores but had stopped doing it by the time we wanted them.

They were made up at RB Sails on the south coast and were very good and quick as we needed them for our Alps Trip

Still going strong and no damaged to any bikes in transport

Its an opportunity for some one. Back in the day when we were windsurfing if you had a good board you could buy a padded board bag from quite a lot of places, they cost about 10% of a new board. Still got three in bags stored in the garage.
We pay thousands for a bike yet no one has come up with decent protection for when they are in transit.
That's why we ended up going back to a sail maker

I use a Velosock.
Nothing special, bit expensive for what it is but does the job well. Huge range of colours and patterns many of which would only suit triathletes. A certain amount of "training" needed to get them fitted.

Or just put some blankets over each bike...

Velosock is shite, next to impossible to fit single-handed, not padded, not waterproof, save your money.
Those padded things up there ^^^ look pretty decent though.

I like my velosock. Use it to get a muddy bike up and down 3 flights of carpeted stairs to my flat. Takes a while to learn to fit but ok once mastered. Packs down small when not in use so I can leave it in the communal hallway while cycling.

Only covers bottom half of bike so might not fully work with Wally jnr in this use case.

I have a selection of old curtains for such purposes.

Didn't cost £50 or even £45.

Best compromise, old quilts or cheapest double quilts from Asda Homeliving work a treat coupled with bungee cords in our van.
