S'little more than a gimmick, tbh. Thin cable like that can be cut through in seconds.

Nice idea, but style over substance as far as bike security is concerned really.

because cable locks are next to useless if you're going to be more than a foot from the bike?

I made one of those for a D&T project in school, except mine had an alarm built in.. Was pretty good, didn't get it back from the examiners though. 👿

Depends, locking a £3k wonderbike in London, yes, they're useless.

Locking up a commuter BSO they're fine (I had a £5 decathlon lock and a £20 bike for years).

Reminds me of the theory that every bike weighs 50lbs.

A 20lb bike needs a 30lb lock,
A 30lb bike needs a 20lb lock etc until you get to
A 50lb bike which needs no lock at all.
