I am looking to get my bike insured for obvious reasons (had two guys brake through a window at my old house while every one was in for my 456) and was hoping you could advise on the best place to look? Home contents wont cover it.

I have a 456ss with pikes, hope minis, pro2s and slx so a fair bit of money in it from my point of view.

Thanks

halifax home insurance will cover bikes, listed as a valuable item so long as kept in house, garage or locked to immovable object in a secured shed
I would suggest changing your contents insurance will be cheaper than specialist bike insurance - I was quoted over £600 a year by several bike insurers to cover two £2k bikes, sevral more wouldnt offer cover unless each bike on a seperate policy???

butterworth insurance for me

£290 (ish) covers 2 bikes, one at £1500 one at £2500, plus a million squid public liability.

bikes kept indoors, but could be in an out building so long as they are permanently attached.

same bikes quoted nearer £400 with others.

also have a very nice lady on the end of the phone, not a call center.

M&S home contents here to for about £300 iirc. Not sure why people pay that just for bike insurance.

you can get your own contents insurance as a student - normally only pay upfront though.
