[Closed] Bike Inn delivery - how long to wait before I go nuclear?

I ordered a frame and some brakes from Bike Inn on the 17th April. After they charged me over £100 for delivery and gave me a delivery date of the 23rd April I was a bit peeved they didn't despatch it until the 23rd April. However it has since sat in the Dachser delivery system somewhere in Spain and has been since the 23rd. When I ask Bike Inn for an update they say "it will be with you within a week". This has gone on for 4 weeks via their chat help. I finally got an email back from customer services telling me they need 14 days to discuss with the courier (Dachser) . To me that sounds ridiculous.

I threatended to go through PayPal and request a refund but TBH what I want is the frame, I have all the kit to build it up and given the current state of affairs there are not many other options out there at the moment.

So now I've got that off my chest - are there any options I've not considered other than PayPal refund and no frame?

How is your bladder?

Do you have a waterproof jiffy bag?

My money is on its waiting for clearance and payment of customs fees, if you're lucky this has probably been requested on an email or similar you've deleted as spam since you hadn't heard of the carrier suddenly asking for your money. If you're unlucky it's making its way through the bowels of some HMRC process administered by serco or similar and and will be with you sometime next year.

Doesn't help, but a mate at work has spent 6 months waiting for his new VW to go from the factory to the UK, most of the time spent in Portugal waiting on customs (apparently).

LOL, wait till you want a refund for something that hasn't turned up!! I think it was best part of 3 months from the initial "where is my tyre?" which was prob two weeks after they claimed to have posted it.

I did order another one off them and that came within 7 days. Never saw any sign of the first one though and eventually got refunded.

Not helpful I know but point is they can be quite hit and miss

Ordered from TradeInn and it was dispatched last week (Tuesday)...Thursday Royal Mail told me they had been notified it was being sent (Royal Mail 48hr), still sitting at they have been notified of it being sent to them. I'm assuming it is stuck waiting to be put on a transport to this island, but it is annoying having to wait with no real updates - and I've only been 1 week so not as bad as the OP's timeframe!

TradeInn/BikeInn whatever do seem to be the slowest of the European retailers. I've had stuff from Bike Discount and Bike Components which have arrived within the week. A saddle from Bike Inn took 3 weeks

Amusingly (or not) they gave me some sort of points for buying the frame whihc translated into a pair of trainers for about a tenner all in and delivered. Bargain and arrived within 5 days. The frame I actually need so obviously the law of sod comes into play. ¡Los Bastardos!

Tradeinn/Bikeinn have multiple depos around Europe - it's prob waiting for a flight as there aren't many at the mo.
Iirc my last bike Inn order took 6weeks in April and an order from the US has also taken 6weeks to get here.....

I ordered a head torch battery from TrekInn last November, by the time it arrived it was no longer dark in the evenings... Still I have it for next winter!
