My wife and I are planning a trip up to Mabie this weekend. I have a bike but need to hire one for her. I've heard/read the hire bikes at the bike Shed at Mabie are not up to much. Can anyone recommend another place nearby or one the way up from Manchester where we could hire one?
I'm looking for a well maintained decent trail bike, we don't want to spend £50 to demo the latest full sus machine, just a decent hire bike would do.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

The hire bikes are(I think)Genesis with a Shimano gear hub, good bikes. I would call ahead to make sure bike is serviced to your needs, can be busy bike may not be up to some peoples expectations. The shop/cafe also run on minimal staffing!

If coming up from Manc carry on up to the Lockerbie exit. Quieter road and options to get to Ae.
Ae is about 1/2hr from Mabie depending on road works and tractors 🙄
Aye, as above - was up at Mabie yesterday and they had a pretty big fleet of hire bikes out the front. It'd be worth a quick phone call, just to be sure but I think you'll be alright.
