Easy now.

ive just collected a little baby anthem (XS size) frame for the grill fiend, off of fleabay.

its in pretty beat up shape. its an original anthem (3.5mm travel) and has clearly never even bean cleaned. bearings are all rusted solid, bushes have a foot of play in them, etc etc.

frame looks fine though (apart from one heavy cable rub on the seat tube, but the seapost progresses past it, so it should be fine)

as its getting draped in Sids and XT kind of grade trail build, i would like to get it tidied up a bit i think (i am yet to run this past herself)

SO.

option 1: weight minimizing. If it was stripped, and then mechanically brushed to give a nice finish, and then left raw alu.... exactly how shit would it look in 12 months?

option 2: as above but laquer it

option 3: Paint it (bob jackson/argos esque)

option 4: powder coat it: cheap and tough but a bit heavy maybe?

any opinions?
any recommendations for places in the SW (i'm in exeter)?
i figure as the bearings are shot, leave them in for whatever needs doing, to protect the faces?
i can find an old BB to protect the shell.

but how does paint handle that, if it is sprayed over, and then bearings are knocked out?

i look forward to your responses and maybe even piktchures.
