Looking for a new bike for Mrs RNP. Already has a heavy entry level Giant fs bike but am looking at something a little lighter and less gnarr! and more suited to her novice level cycling.

She wants to do C to C next year and I'm thinking more gentle shared path / converted railway style trails rather than trail centre style riding.

Thinking Specialized Vita but open to ideas on anything I've missed!

Cube do a whole series of Ladies hybrid bikes. You can still get discs and "trekking" style forks for a bit of cush.

Trek ds series are pretty good this year, from the 7.3 up anyway.

Bike for the missis? Sounds like a fair swap. ๐Ÿ˜€

There's two quite distinct types of hybrid, one's akin to an MTB, with a similar range of gears, usually suspension forks and medium size tyres. The other is more like a pure road bike but with flat handlebars. Sounds like the former is more suitable, but don't discount the other. For example,

Leaning towards more of a city style hybrid rather than something more Mtb related. Like the Vita, and Trek FX series. Something for gentle off-road / Tarmaced ex railways style paths/trails and some roadwork that she can build up fitness and do the coast to coast next year on hopefully the same bike.
