Ok, biking up to Tan Hill tomorrow for 4 days of camping and British Sea Power. Got my tent gear and sleeping bag in one pannier, leaving me one other pannier, and probly rucksack for food/clothes etc.

What's good food to take to last me all weekend? There's unlikely to be opportunity to resupply once at the festival.

So far got breakfasts sorted - eggs, bacon, tin of beans+sausages. Not exactly lightweight, but Ican't imagine camping without. What do people recommend for the rest of the time?

Cheers!

Get some really doughy/stodgy bread you can fashion ear plugs out of for when British Sea Power play.

Food that you like!!!!!

your taking tins so your clearly not going for the light weight option so why not just take the things you like?

heh, davidtaylforth you're funny. really ๐Ÿ˜›

The tin of beans and bangers are my only weighty things, no more tins or i might die, which would be a terrible waste of a ticket. (oh and a bottle of red in one of my bottlecages)

Never done this bike/tent thing before, so not sure what stuff to take. Pasta/noodles and packets of sauce sounds good to me.

the food you take is limited by the pans & the stove you have.

I've no done it for ages, but I used to bake a couple of big potatoes until they were really soft, scoop them out an mix cheese and pickle in, stuff it all back together, cool it down and wrap it in foil. Quite nice, almost a proper meal but not requiring any cooking. Same goes for scotch eggs.

Sounds like a rather good plan BTW. ๐Ÿ˜€

I have a little gas burner, and was just going to take a the one canteen/pot to cook in. I do have a set of camping pans but thought a bit excessive really.

Hey BD, that potato thing sounds a great idea - might do a couple of those.

This was meant to be a group adventure, but my mates have bottled it, opting for car instead. I think I have convinced myself to bike it solo anyway, it will certainly be a weekend to remember. Planning to get the 0630 train from Leeds to Ilkley, then bike it up through Bolton Abbey and beyond.

I tend to use a lot of those dry premixed pasta/sauce or rice/dried veg things so it's just a case of mixing the packet with the right amount of water and boiling it for a while. Just be careful the portions are a bit small if that's all you're eating so a 2 person meal is normally okay for one. Also meats like salami/chorizo are quite good to chop up and add.
