[Closed] Bike brands and accidental preference

So the wife and I have both been looking at getting new bikes and I realised I have two Specialized bikes (road and full sus) and would happily replace the Full Sus (old Camber) with a new Stumpjumper or Camber. In addition both my helemts are Specialized and my shoes etc.

Now at no point have I decided that Specialized is the brand for me, rather I think comes down to the fact that the LBS stock it and it works. On top of this the LBS always has great deals on older Specialized bikes hence the road bike!

Should I worry? What bike brands have you accidentally brought into?

Nope, nothing wrong with it at all. Spesh. stuff "just" works, and the helmets and shoes fit well.

Both my bikes (mtb and road) are Boardman. We use Halfords for C2W plus Boardman bikes usually represent good value especially with Halfords bank holiday and British Cycling discounts.

If I was a cash buyer I would probably look elsewhere.

I agree. I just don't want to become a "full kit <insert choice of word>"!

For jerseys, shorts and softshells/jackets I only use 7Mesh nowadays, it's just by far and away the best kit I've ever used. Otherwise I'm not too fussed really, I use whatever fits/works/feels the best for what I need.

Interesting, not heard of this one before. I've always used Endura (seemingly indestructable with a decent warranty) and Gore (best waterproof gear and bib tights, but bloody expensive these days) but I've always got space in the cupboard for more gear ๐Ÿ™‚

Lusso, I bought some of their thermal bib tights over 25 years ago and they are still in use on the winter commute. I bought them as they were what the local shop had and I've bought their clothing since when they've made what I need. I buy it because it fits me well, is well made, good value and is still made in the UK.

After taking a damaged frame to the Giant store on a Sunday and being told a whole new frame and forks were being shipped out within 12 hours I'd probably need a lot of persuading not to buy another as my next road bike.
