These things were selling like hot cakes today. I expect them all to come back to the store next week when people realise they are utter shyte. What do they expect?

How the hell can you manufacture and sell a bike for 50 bob and still make some profit? Will anyone actually enjoy this introduction to cycling?

Mods: move this over there >>> if u see fit!

I think if I turned up on one of them at a STW meet, given how rubbish I am some may have a go at me for being over-biked 🙁

Some people I know bought them first time they came out.

They told me at a party as they know I am a keen biker. Took a good 5 minutes for me to stop laughing.

Saw them again at Christmas, they rode them once and have since been left in the garage. I expect this to be a common life span for these bikes.

I started off on a £50 bike. Riding it made me realise I wanted to ride some more...so where's the harm in that?

no harm at all. The cranks turn the wheels and the bars go side to side, so it's all good I suppose. I've just had enuff of lifting the **** things all day!

Those vids of a bike mechanic trying hard to be objective whilst assembling an ASDA BSO on

at the bottom of the page are pretty interesting to me. He seems pretty hardened to the experience!

Most people here in Beijing, won't spend more than a tenner on a bike, as they know that some nooooooob is going to nick it

50 bob is 50 shillings - equal to £2.50 McDonald made the same mistake in a tv advert and had to change it.

Especially when I bought a second hand 06 Giant Bowary, single speed commuter for £110! I think I was lucky.

They will turn around to us and say, "You bought a bike for £1000, you can get one from asda for £50!"
