Bought a rough looking (paint wise) but sound BFe on eBay for a good price with a view to getting it powder coated. Local powder coaters didn't have the really dark blue (almost black) sort of colour I was after, so I just went with gloss black instead. Took all the bits off my Chameleon and swapped over, but had to take my Raidium Chainguide off as it rubbed on the chainstay. So, need a new chainguide now...

Running 9 speed and with a dodgy Bonty seatpost until I get an uppy-downy one of some sort.

Frame cost £107 delivered, then £25 for dipping, £25 for powder coat and £25 for new decals. I was lucky that Paul at Cotic was able to dig out a set of the reflective decals.

First ride this weekend with my 3 year old down to Symonds Yat for an ice cream. He'll be on his Islabike Cnoc, so we'll see if we manage the full 8 mile round trip...

In this throw away society it's great to see you re-cycling the bike and I love the rabbit photo, very Monty Python.

£207 for your BFe or £300 for a new one ..

Looks good mate.

Nothing like the new ones is it? The tubes look skinnier, more like a Soul.

Bernaard - Chameleons will be for sale once I've washed it. Drop me a line if you're interested. There's photos of it on my Flickr page - click the link at the bottom of the phot above and look for the Bikes set.

nice and glossy for powder coat. I think PC can sometimes look quite plasticy

very Monty Python

prize for anyone who can name another head of state, other than Monty Python's King Arthur, to have been attacked by a killer rabbit.

Chameleons is a medium or 16 inch. SC sizes are a bit odd and a medium would be most others small.

Some of us were at the Cave of Caerbanog this weekend...

(simples bike - having gone back to steel HT, it makes me realise that most people could ride a simple HT of some kind and mis FS/latest boingy damper/BNG etc)

Yep, sold the dented blue one as well. Done on Borrowdale bash (literally this time!) after 3 maybe 4 rides out..? Gutted! Bought the gritstone one to replace it, but it never really felt like my bike as it wasn't the blue one... And then went into 18bikes saw the new green and fell in love! Sold the others to help fund the new version.
