[Closed] best xc wheelset for £100?

mates after a new set of wheels for his old cannondale. says hes got a budget of £100 and was looking at bikehut wheels from halfords.

i told him id have a go at finding him some better wheels online.

can anyone help me out here with a set from merlin/crc/wiggle or something like that?

Those MT15s or whatever they are. I've got a set, only had one ride but coped ok with 2.35" Minions and some hard riding. Just had to get a set of £15 centrelock>6-bolt adaptors from Superstar and jobs a good un.

I think for your money the £70 shimano hubbed wheels are the best.

However it may be worth looking at some of the superstar wheelsets, no idea on their reliability but they look okay for teh moeny you pay.

+1 for the crossrides from merlin. Hopefully the ones I ordered will arrive tomoz!
Had some on my old bike - very good wheels

It does say wheelset and there's no option to choose between front or rear and they are half price

or buy second hand... put a wtd in the classifieds?
could find a £200 wheelset for £100 if slightly used...

sorry should have stated he uses v brakes, so crossrides are out. deores look good tho. just put an ad up too 🙂
