Are the lizard skin things any good or does anyone have any DIY ways of stoping cable rub around the headset?

A: Use the Goodridge hoses. They're much flexible than the Shimano types and will rub less.

B: LS Patches or just some "Helicopter Tape" will work fine.

C: There was a fiddly solution which involved seating some tubing around the headset.

I have a lizard skin and its stayed put for its first ride so cant comment on long term theyre only £3 so must be worth a punt 😆

Instead of buying patched for frames i use Electrical tape in black a few layers does just as good

A piece of inner-tube fits around a headset quite nicely

Decathlon sell packs of neoprene pipe that you slip over the cables (in sections circa 75mm long) It's very good...
