Best way to get to Bourg Saint Maurice from the London area on Sunday 14th July.
Planes and trains are my choices, or if anyone is driving and fancies a passenger.
Going to meet friends there and then come back with them after a week.
I'll be travelling light.
Any ideas?
Cheers
Thinking about it, I could drive if I had 1 or 2 passengers myself.... not sure I want full on holiday buddies as riding a mixture of places and camping.
Blablacar , either you drive and pick people up to help pay bills ; or you get in a car with someone .
Mbnut, will you have a bike with you?
Train, winter might get you direct on Eurostar, but summer will involve changes and TGV. Don't think there's any direct in summer. Also not budget at all.
Flight to Geneva and some kind of transfer, or drive if there's enough to split the cost / driving.
Hang out at the Chunnel and ask anyone with a T5 or T6 if they are heading that way.
fly to Lyon, get a bus
I usually get the train in summer when travelling solo, drive in the winter when at least 2 up.
From a time/££ perspective, I think the train has it when travelling solo.
Train from GVA to BSM is about £30.
Coach from London to Grenoble / Chamonix. Local bus / train from there.
Eurolines have connections to Chambery. €90 one way and takes 23hrs! I'd look at squeezyjet/jet2/ryanair.
Hi all
Thanks for your replies.
I've ended up arranging to meet friends in Grenoble on the lunchtime so it's a flight to Lyon and a bus to Grenoble.
Excited now.
