I am going to Revolution on saturday. We are riding DH bikes. We have only ridden DH at Antur Stiniog where it is mostly rocky and crushed slate.

Revolution looks different to Antur with more roots and mud etc. We are currently using Maxxis Minions DHF and DHR. Is there anything better suited to Revo?

If it's gonna be wet then mud spikes will be a godsend there.

If it's going to be softer stick a Mary or Shorty on the front....the DHR will be fine whatever.

Just got back from Antur with a Minion DHF and a HighRoller on the back, it was great....at FoD a week earlier I had a DHR2 on the back and a Magic Mary up front....that was also great on the roots and dirt of Gloucester.

There are some bloody brilliant tyres around at the moment, gone are the days of having to use HighRollers all year round and tip-toe around the conditions, now just whack the appropriate tyres on and ride as you usually would...super tacky, black chilli and vertstar compounds help massively.

Magic Mary's all the way for revo. I've rode revo quite a lot, used to ride minions but magics are superior when its slightly wet, which happens quite a lot.

Spikes used to be good when it was really wet & muddy but the tracks are down to bed rock now so they don't work as well.

One of the owners of revo swears by mud kings. Cut down versions when it's dry
