So after watching too many youtube videos of people shredding A-Line and the like, I really want to learn how to jump. I know that it takes years to get that good at them, but we all have to start somewhere right? The only issue is I don't know where the best place near me would be to go to learn.
Do any locals to South Wales (Newport and surrounding area) know good spots with nice small, progressive jumps that I can session? Preferably around 30 mins or less away, as I know if I go further I could get to FOD or even BPW, although that wouldn't be too easy to just go and session.
I'm also thinking of maybe booking a jumps course at BPW to jump start the progression, if anyone has done the course before, is it any good?
I did the jump course at bikepark and found it informative for getting good technique.
I would have liked it to be more advanced but knowing I was doing it right helped me a lot.
Bpw is one of the easiest places to session a feature as most of the trails have little push up paths after features
Van road jumps Caerphilly are just down the road.

Oh wow I haven't heard of the Van Road Trails before, they look perfect thanks!
Good to know about the BPW course too, I know there are some good jumps there but it's not good for sessioning after work and the like, that's all.
I was going to say Van Road.
If you want someone to call you an ambulance when you crash let me know. I've been meaning to pay a visit.
Rampworld Cardiff? First Monday of the month is over-30s from 8pm-11pm, and BMX or 26" jump bike hire is £8. They have a foam pit too..
Rampworld Cardiff?
Whoah - this exists?
I might need to buy myself a BMX for this purpose!
£100 for 2 hours sole occupancy? That's almost worth it to avoid kids laughing at my lack of technique.
Fancy organising a STW private session then?! I'd be up for that...
Rampworld Cardiff run by Manon Carpenter's dad as well, IIRC.
BPW jump course was worth its weight in gold for me.
Although I was still naff at jumping at the ned of it, it gave me to knowledge to be able to progress and more importantly, it removed the fear I had approaching anything remotely jump like.
That confidence then transferred to other areas of riding, so it was great for progression. I would highly recommend it!
