..but when it came to ordering I was put off by not knowing fancying the option of self measuring my pupillary distance.
So I went to local independent optician, and they did me some transition lensed sports glasses for a £100, just what I wanted. Also got all my 'normal' glasses re-glazed for a fraction of what the main stream shop I usually used charged.
As much as I'd loved some perscription Oakley's, £300 for glasses use whilst mtb-ing is daft (well with my skill level it is).
So my suggestion.. try your local opticians, you might be surprised.

In every town there is a back-street abortionist who does all the repair work for all the opticians in town when they have failed to convince you that you need to replace those broken specs. These guys are geniuses who can get anything done for you if you dash them with a couple of bottles of beer or some biscuits. Search yellow Pages, phone around and get locked into the network outside the high street opticians. I can tell you the name of Bolton's back-street abortionist if you want.
I got some like that from TK Max for £2.99 then got 'em glazed to my prescription for £50.
Not sure they'd be quite like that seeing as they have replaceable lenses which are photochromic which go from clear> black iridium

Has anyone used Rudy Project ones? Fancying a pair of prescription sunglasses myself this year. I usually wear (non-prescription), an old pair of the specialized transition type ones which I love to pieces so if anyone knows of something similar with prescription options please let me know.
My current riding specs are Optilabs transitions wotsits, and I've been impressed with them. The lenses are a bit fubarred now through five years of muddy bike use, so I may well just get them reglazed at a local opticians.
Oh, and FWIW, IPD is easily measured by a willing helper using a ruler. It's really not that technical, it's just the distance in mm between your pupils when your looking dead ahead.

The problem with this for me (there was a DIY how to guide on that top site), is that as your vision rely on your getting it right (especially for a blind ***** like me), I'd prefer a professional to do it.... and though I didn't allude to it properly, my back-street abortionist (Blink vision in Kiddy) cost no more than any of those websites
Extreme eyewear just got prescription oakleys from them online recently. Service was good, so was price and there was a discount code online saved me another 5%
I got prescription raybans from eyewearbrands for £120. Very good.

Try Cilliary Blue.They did me some prescription lenses for my Jawbones..£40 a set! Bought 2 sets in the end a clear and a dark.
