120mm - 150mm, for singletrack, long (5hr ish) rides.

Seriously considering it as an option instead of a 120mm full susser.

Just to add... I "think" I want a tapered head tube and 142mm rear drop outs. but that's probably only because it's trendy.

Brodie Ti Holeshot, designed to work with between 140-160mm travel and with nice long top tubes and a 50mm semi integrated head set to keep the front low.

£1199 for the frame and seat clamp.

Ragley Ti... this is speculation on my part, I ride a Blue Pig with the same geometry so haven't actually ridden a Ti but if it's half as good as it's steel sibling it will be a winner.

Whyte would be dreadful with 150mm fork imho.

Can't think of any tapered and/or 12mm/142mm etc. Try suggesting at kingdom bike project... maybe they will build one for you.

I love my Soda. The new one is only rated up to 120mm forks, but it's the best all rounder I've owned. Very pretty too. The Hummer is another good option and a little less hardcore than the Ragley. The range of ti bikes with tapered headtubes is pretty limited - I've only noticed the new 456 ti so far.

Can second the Pegasus love mine, had mine 4 months and now the other 'best' ti hardtails of the past, Merlin XLM and Moots YBB are now just bare frames as weren't getting used...
Very comfy for all day rides even running a Carbon fork, may get a sus fork on it but not felt the need at the mo. Admittedly I do have a full sus for rocky days, but for singletrack Pegasus everytime.

Ideal for a 120 though.

I think the whyte look rather tasty. As does the 456, might be a bit too burly for my liking. Thanks for all the ideas, I wonder if I'll ever actually but a new frame?!

I've a 456Ti, love it.

Comfortable for all day, stiff enough for XC racing.

You want a tapered headtube, 150mm forks and 142mm dropouts but don't want it to look burly .....

That Brodie above looks lovely.

What is the headtube size on it? Can it take a tapered or 1.5 steerer with one of the new cane-creek headsets?

Any reason why it needs to be off-the-peg? At the price of many ti frames that don't have all you want you could well find a custom one that can be built to your complete spec.

XX44 / tapered fork on ti, takes up to 140mm fox, which would give a 67.5 static head angle.

Almost as many recommendations as there are posts:

Lynskey Ridgeline LT
Brodie Ti Holeshot
Ragley Ti
Lynskey Ridgeline 29
Cotic Soda
Cove Hummer
Singular Pegasus
Van Nic Zion
Van Nic Mamtor
Whyte 19 ti
On One Ti 456
Genisis Altitude ti
Voodoo Djab

Do I get the feeling that they are much of a muchness? How can anyone possibly make an informed choice between all these bikes that basically look the same?

clearly the best Ti hardtail doesn't come off the peg... either that or they are all great

Looks like you will have to go custom!

New on-one 456 ticks most of the boxes, and with a cane creek angleset you can kick out the head angle another degree...;)

Just not sure about the quality with the new builder... but time will tell and there is always the warranty or second hand demand to fall back on.

You see the problem about choosing a Ti hardtail is that you loose the most important differentiation between any group of bikes. The colour.
