Does anyone have any experience with using third party mapping software with a Satmap GPS? I downloaded a tracklogs demo version but can't get the memory map demo to work on my PC. Also, what's the best thing to do about maps? I want to get Scottish maps at 1:25000 to plan some good routes for the coming Spring and Summer.
I use GPX format, either downloaded from places like 'Every trail.com' or created in Memory map on my PC. Works OK for me. I am not aware of any actual 3rd party software that works on the Satmap but the GPX conversion seems to work pretty well. I'd also recommend Every trail over the Satmap website to upload trails to as well. Every trail doesn't limit the file size or truncate the route like Satmap does.
