as above really,is pasta the best thing?
sloppy carbs.
mash
paella
risotto
spag bol.
brown rice or wholemeal pasta
I tend to eat loads of carbs [pasta etc] at lunchtime and eat reasonably lightly the evening before a long ride
Loads of Spag Bol all washed down with red wine and at least 8 cans of Stella!
Works for me! ๐
fish, chips, and a battered sausage.
I thought that sort of thing weakens yer legs ?... and a battered sausage
I'd recommend an early night
Was contemplating a dirty curry and a load of Stella but prob not ideal.
Does it really make a difference? Unless you're going for some podium, get a pizza.
Certainly no podium, just trying to make life slightly easier.
A nice curry and a few beers.
I find that ensures an early morning shit which makes for less bulk to carry in the ride ๐
I find maximising my hydration during the week helps me feel better toward the end of the weekend ride and recover better too
Chicken & beans for me & NO beers/wine etc
Big carbo load.
+ in the morning, slow release stuff like porridge with banana and brown bread to get the right fuel in for the ride, AVOID full english

That just reminded me to pack a bog roll for Dyfi this weekend, nearly forgot! ๐ฏ
brown rice or wholemeal pasta
What have they done that's so bad they deserve that nastiness? ๐ฏ
I had fantastic fish and chips with mushy peas and that last night, with a couple of beers (The Grapes, narrow St. Limehouse). Must say, my legs felt a bit dead early on in my ride today. Loads of pasta or rice the night before seems to be a better bet for a long ride I've found. A lamb shish and several beers doesn't seem to work as well...
