You made a 4 day long tour & also want to another one in the next June. I think its a very good idea. And now you want to carry a bed with you. Just amazing idea also. I suggest you to travel in Sao Miguel in the Azores which is a vibrant garden in the middle of the Atlantic.

I think took us 5 days all in from Ardnamurchan to Montrose.

Day 1, Ardnamurchan lighthouse to Strontian
Day 2, Strontian to North Laggan
Day 3, North Laggan to Newtonmore
Day 4, Newtonmore to Ballater
Day 5, Ballater to Montrose

we reckoned about 50:50 road / off road.

Scotland is a long country, any idea on which bit of it you want to cross?

And if you want it easy for direction finding then the Southern Upland Way is signposted coast-to-coast, 212 miles.

I think a tour of the hebrides would be more fun. Island hopping on the ferries with lovely scenery instead of potentially lots of crowded (in comparison to the hebrides) roads. Just a thought.

our route had as minimal roads content as we could get away with, and they were pretty quiet TBH.
