hey all
did this years ago and it was really good...got 4 days and wondered what was regarded as the best route...will be looking at june time and staying in places with a bed...any tips or route ideas will be welcome!
thanks in advance
You made a 4 day long tour & also want to another one in the next June. I think its a very good idea. And now you want to carry a bed with you. Just amazing idea also. I suggest you to travel in Sao Miguel in the Azores which is a vibrant garden in the middle of the Atlantic.

ullapool to Bonar bridge - can be done there and back in a day.
I think took us 5 days all in from Ardnamurchan to Montrose.
Day 1, Ardnamurchan lighthouse to Strontian
Day 2, Strontian to North Laggan
Day 3, North Laggan to Newtonmore
Day 4, Newtonmore to Ballater
Day 5, Ballater to Montrose
we reckoned about 50:50 road / off road.
Scotland is a long country, any idea on which bit of it you want to cross?
And if you want it easy for direction finding then the Southern Upland Way is signposted coast-to-coast, 212 miles.
I think a tour of the hebrides would be more fun. Island hopping on the ferries with lovely scenery instead of potentially lots of crowded (in comparison to the hebrides) roads. Just a thought.
our route had as minimal roads content as we could get away with, and they were pretty quiet TBH.
Oban / Barra / Uists / Harris /lewis and back to harris / Skye / Mallaig/ ardnamurchan / Mull / Oban is a fatastic tour but little offroad potential
Southern Upland Way
So hands up who's ridden all of the SUW ?
Anyway here's what i did for a c2c a couple years ago.
