Tried using a tube repair patch and glue and wouldnt stick at all, must be something that does the job thats cheap and effective? or do we just bin ripped tyres?
Tyre patch kit from just riding along
works perfectly for me even on tubeless systems
First give it a real scrub, then use something like isopropyl alcohol to clean the area properly. I use wetsuit glue (the seam sealer type that you can buy from outdoor shops, that you have to let set for 24hrs) and it works a treat.
I glue a piece of inner tube on the inside of the tyre using evostick and then stitch up the cut. Oh and if you want some good quality repair patches try mole valley farmers. ๐
Cheap dental floss used to work for me back in the day, covered by a repair patch on the inside...
When I was young and poor I used to sew up the tear, then patch it on the inside with a tyre patch.
i sew and glue it - patch on the inside - works a treat
