For me it was tubeless tyres - excellent.

Also re: riding something along the lines of look where you're going to go rather than look where you are ie look further down the trail - improved my riding no end.

Advice not to buy from IWH!
Other than that, helicopter tape was a useful discovery!
Had plenty of useful tech advice, the most useful was prob to bleed xt discs from the caliper up to the lever.

A number of people advised me that I couldn't simply alter the gearing of my singlespeed simply by grinding teeth off the rear cog. As a compromise I removed the teeth from the chainring instead, which had the desired results and lowered the gearing substantially. So thanks for the advice on that.

mrs.flash once said she put her saddle down a teeny bit at the front.
I then did the same, oh joy, it made such a difference to my comfort.

Oh and soem one told me to relax my arms when descending rocky tracks, that really helped.

Eh? badlywireddog, you reduced your gearing by grinding off teeth from your chainring? Or was that an example of bad advice?

I've had plenty of great trail/camping advice from the likes of Druidh, Tandemjeremy, Stuart_C and a couple of others, always appreciated!

Mr Kelly's tubeless guide was helpful too, I already knew the basics, but it made things a little easier for me.

You can make your own LED lights

You can make your own tubeless tyres

M&S insurance is pretty good

Why carry a big camelbak when you're only out for a couple of hours?

Marketting can be hollow drivel and if your best bike is 10 years old so what? (and old kit ain't necessarily 'broken')

You can take your off-the-shelf bike and do things to adjust the ride quite dramatically.

Singlespeeders are deviants (but strangely alluring)

Don't take Picolax lightly.

That'll do for now.

Dont use your brakes on a descent you'll go faster (erm yeah?) Then following the trail guru down and watching as he lost it quite a few times some good stacks and he was determind to prove his point.
WHAT A HERO!
