Been trying to get a decent fork with 2x10 gearing but there all 3x9's.

Thought cube would sort me out from leisure lakes but no good.

Anyone know ? 2014's welcome medium size.

On one 456? or similar? I have one in the 18" size. i'm 5ft10, i'm 19 and never fails to put a smile on my face! haha.

EDIT: However, they're not £600, i've just realised i've just looked, if you can get one second hand it may be a better deal

Still a triple but bang on budget and lots of mod cons if you don't mind mail order...Radon

How about:

http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/mountain-bikes/carrera-fury-mountain-bike-2015

2 x 10, Suntour Raidon 120mm fork which if the 29er version is anything to go by is great

Or if you don't like the idea of a Carrera then this:

http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bikes/mountain-bikes/boardman-mountain-bike-comp-ht-650b-2014

Has the same fork but 3 x 9. It's £650, but you get £60 off that on spend and save at the moment or 10% off with BC membership

Thanks for your suggestions. Can't understand why 2x10 is not available. Surely it's cheaper for manufacturers.

What about Commencal? http://www.commencal-store.co.uk/Mobile/MBSCProduct.asp?pdtid=14494968 these look pretty amazing value wise with the weaker euro. There's a couple models below this as well,

this is the one I got, and with a bit of dealer discount should come close to budget. I researched it in depth as had similar criteria to you, for my son's new bike after growing out his Islabike 26. I wanted light, Deore level, with reasonable fork. The Cube spec is IMO equivalent to most other brands offering at around 1K

Surely if there is a compromise to be had for the money, then 2x10 vs 3x9/10 isn't the crucial one?

Just swap the big ring for a bash guard and wind the end stop screws in and it can be 2x9/10! Easy!
