I have an Innovations Proflate 16 inflator (bought in an emergency!). It only uses Innovations cartridges (expensive) and doesn't work with the cheapo cartridges that are available. Can anyone recommend a similar inflator that works with cheapo CO2?? cheers.
Which model? Does it hold the co2 for more than 1 shot?
I think so, not sure though - not used it that much tbh
What's the difference between innovations cartridges and other cartridges?
I got the same one as grumm - works really well so far.
Have you tried the cheaper cartridges in it. or are you just taking their word for it?

I use an Innovations Microflate, it's very easy to modulate, I'd avoid any with any sort of 'trigger' they're always plasticy and nasty!
Think the non fitting bit refers to unthreaded cartridges only on most of these. If you use threaded so far all that I have used have been OK.
I have tried non Innovations unthreaded cartridges in my Proflate 16 - the dimensions must be a nano bit larger on the Innovations ones. Result is that cheapo cartridge mustn't sit quite right in Innovations inflator - just gives a sharp cold PHHHWWWSSSSSSSSHHHHHHH of the ol' CO2 all over the place.
