I'm toying with the idea of getting a CX bike so I can get out on some rides and combine road with some trail/mountain action.

Nipped out today and looked at a few, Specialized, Tifosi and Boardman.

The majority of them had Canti brakes and that got me wondering what to go for, disc or canti. Some of my riding would take me through boggy and deep mud areas so was swaying on the side of Disc.

I also had a look at the Canyon CX bike range,

https://www.canyon.com/_en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=3200

They look nice but what else is worth looking at with a max budget of £1250.

I was going to add the Pro6, but last time I checked it was out of stock everywhere.

I didn't even know Merlin sold them....and they have the green frame in stock.....in my size.....must....resist.....

Ah well, maybe next year.

I'm thinking of getting a rapture and running it SS, but because of the drop-outs it'll do both geared and SS

According to the OP:

Nipped out today and looked at a few, Specialized, Tifosi and Boardman.

He has already been to Halfords to have a look.

....but the CX Team is a nice bike for £900. Not sure it is quite the bargain it once was, given Giant and Pinnacle's offerings.

(Is impressed with Jamie's nerd-like knowledge of cx bikes.)

A few nice ones there, Liking the Cannondale.

Had a look at the Orange RX9 today, it was a heavy bit of kit!

I'd like to build the Niner RLT9 but I reckon that would be big bucks

Just seen pics of an ibis tranny with drops and discs run as a crosser.
I would have a frame for sale
