[#5893795]

I've bought this boardman hybrid and it's fitted with 700*28 tyres.

Rode it a bit earlier and it's quite hard and uncomfortable to be honest so been thinking of fitting some wider tyres.

Anyone got some recommendations on what to look at?

Any ideas in what size I can go to?

Cheers

Steve

Without seeing the frame and fork clearance it's difficult to tell. However, I think the best advice is to MTFU ๐Ÿ™‚

Ha I was thinking that!

There is tons of clearance but I think the limiting factor will be the width of the rims

i went from 28s up to Continental Tour Plus 32cs.
They are not as fast obviously and a bit heavy, but they are sold as "never ever ever puncture" and are significantly more comfortable on rougher paths

If you want to go silly, Schwalbe do a 2 inch Big Apple 700cm, but weighs a ton. They also do a more sensible Kojak which IIRC is 35mm. I'm using the 26 inch foldy kojak, not sure why you don't hear more about them, they seem good.

Rims will be fine. I've run 35c CX tyres on Open Pros and they're pretty narrow.

Schwalbe have the opition when ordering them

Think the land cruiser tyres have the reflective stripe

I'd go with the conti tyres 35c cyclocross tyre

If they are Contis, then anything with "Reflex" in the name.
