Evening STW,

Well, 3am for me in Myanmar right now, where I run an archaeological project. A project that shuns smelly trucks and noisy motorbikes but favours mountain bikes for daily transport and amusement.

I'll start with the minor twist. The code is not for me but one of my PhD students, Baptiste, here with me in Myanmar, where said daily MTBing has given an irresistible urge to get a decent bike back in France. He is not well off so I have been searching around for the best available within his budget. He is a bit of a hooligan so I came up with the base model Nukeproof Scout 290. I can give him a boost Fox Float 34 I over-ordered from that recent amazing PSA to swap out the boat anchor Suntour fork.

Those STWers who live in France might be familiar with bank account spending limits, in which you're simply prevented from spending your own money unless you pay for a more expensive account/visa card etc. Ergo, Baptiste can't buy the bike using his own account, so I'll do it. The Nukeproof is on at full, very reasonable, price and a 10% off code would mean new pedals/helmet etc for the same dosh.

Why don't I join British Cycling ? I haven't lived in the UK since 2007. I am a proud member of the Federation française de Cyclo-Tourisme but they don't provide CRC codes unfortunately...

I understand BC/CRC codes expire monthly and I was going to buy Baptiste's bike in the next couple of days, so it arrives when we head home next week. If anyone would be so kind as to give me their otherwise unused code it'd be very much appreciated.

Sorry<span style="font-size: 0.8rem;"> for the long post but I thought a bit of context might persuade.</span>

<span style="font-size: 0.8rem;">Cheers, Gaidong</span>

I've had two very kind code offers already, many thanks. I'll order i' the morning as it really is 3:38 here and I should at least try to sleep!

Cheers,

Gaidong

Morning all,

The code worked, so the bike was had for €743, which is a bloomin' bargain I reckon. Slap my unused Fox Rhythm 130 mm fork on and sell off the Suntour and that should be a pretty sweet bomber hardtail. Makes my Kingdom X2 (though very affordable for titanium) look rather an overkill...

Thanks very much to Jools for the winningest code and to the others that offered.

Have a good weekend,

Gaidong (Oli)
