Is it easy to knock out & replace the bearings in Shimano XT Bottom Bracket? (Rather old Octalink ES71 in this case)

They should just tap out with a screwdriver and a hammer. Replacing mine as well, new bearings should be arriving as we speak.

the octalinks are chuck away jobs I believe - I think turtleheading is talking about HT2.
CRC had some cheap deals on octalinks recently.
