Right, your challenge should you choose to accept it is;

To find a well spec'ed hybred style bike in a 16/17'' frame that can be mail ordered for no more than £500.

It's for my father inlaw who's had a heart transplant so nothing too racy please. Sit up and beg hub gears is what I'm picturing. A rack might be useful.

There are some nice looking Jamis ones at Evans so what else do I need to be looking at?

Cheers

Tim

tim it's not new but I have a Charge Steamer that's in really good nick.

it's just sitting in a shed at the moment and I can't see me beginning to use it again soon.

3 speed hub gears, drum brakes, medium sized.

Mmm, my limited experience of Charge bikes are that they tend to be rather lardy and he lives at the top of a hill so 3 gears to get back up might be asking a lot!
Odd thing isn't it :o/
Fab for Hove seafront darling!

Matches our beach hut perfectly 🙂

It is a bit lardy, though 🙁

It's not easy on the eye is it!
If you ever make it round here I'll introduce you to Daisy. She's a bike retro american cruiser with fake petrol tank and linker fork. It takes a week to turn her round as she's so long but a PROPER beach bike.

For £200 I was prepared to make few sacrifices on aesthetics, but really don't use it so it'll probably go soon.
