It might well be user error, but I've lost my ESI plugs that came with the grips, and a set of cheap plain black plastic ones I got from Amazon.. Anyone know how to stop the bleeding things popping out, or recommend some?

Might just hammer in a couple of wine corks at this rate!

Thanks

Make doubly sure everything is correct though because they a total bastard to remove to correct your upside down brake levers.

Ask me how i know...

Wedge them in. Use double sided tape to do it.

In the past, I have wrapped electrical tape around the parts of the plug that slips into the bar. This made them harder to slip out.

Jamj1974 +1

Couple of wraps tightens them up nicely.

Had similar probs.Ended up using the plain plastic Acor end plugs which have various size fins on the side. They go in easy, stay in and don't deform if you have to dig them back out for whatever reason so you can re-use them.
£2.39 on ebay.
